Darcy Piceu's Hardrock 100 PR
Big shout-out to friend and SmartWool Athlete Darcy Piceu for her recent mention in the October issue of Trail Runner Magazine. Darcy is no stranger to suffering and pushing beyond her comfort zone. Most notably, she was the 5th woman to cross the finish line at this year’s UTMB and is a three-time champion (2012-2014) of the Hardrock 100 ultramarathon. This year she went head-to-head with Anna Frost for a second place finish, but ran her fastest time yet on the course; dipping below 29 hours. Much like years past the weather was mix of rain, snow, wind, and captivating sunsets.
“When I passed Anna, more than half through the race I noticed she was cold, shivering and threatening to take a nap. This is when I knew wearing wool close to skin was going to keep me racing and on track to finish with a personal best record”

“It’s the Hardrock family that keeps me coming back. I have now run 600 total miles in the San Juan Mountains and I can’t wait to do it again.” @DarcyPiceu
