Angel Collinson Wins Best Female Freeride Performance
Congratulations to SmartWool Athlete Angel Collinson for her recent award at the Freeski Film Festival (iF3) in Montreal. Last year Collinson won Best Female Performance at the Powder Awards for her opening segment in the Teton Gravity Research (TGR) film “Almost Ablaze”. This year she closes the new TGR film “Paradise Waits” with her aggressive, no-nonsense attack of the fallline, while her fun-loving personality offers some fanatic relief to what some consider the worst ski season on record.
“Love, love, love being part of SmartWool. All the products help me stay comfortable in the elements year round,” declared Angel when we reached her on location getting ready for the upcoming ski season.
Angel grew up in Little Cottonwood Canyon Utah free-skiing and racing at Snowbird Ski Resort. Angel ski raced until she was 18, then enjoyed a successful career on the Freeride World Tour. Eventually both disciplines collided when she found big mountain skiing. Collinson has been wearing and testing SmartWool since early 2014 when she was brought on to the Fan Field Tester Program.
